K-Tek’s Norbert family of Camera Accessory Platforms Wins Two Awards at NAB
K-Tek, innovative designer and manufacturer of professional boom poles and other audio gear, as well as DSLR and camcorder accessories, earned a pair of prestigious awards for its Norbert Camera Mounting System at the recent NAB (National Association of Broadcasters) convention and exhibition.
The Norbert won a DV Magazine’s Black Diamond (outstanding achievement in the advancement of the art and science of video technology) and the British Columbia Professional Videographers Association (BCPVA) VIA (Video Innovation Award).
The Norbert K-Tek’s Norbert Camera Mounting System is a rock-solid foundation for the latest generation of video-capable DSLRs and compact high-definition video cameras. The flexible Norbert system has mounting options for both tripod and handheld use. Its lightweight machined-aluminum base frame can be used to mount a variety of production tools, including microphones, external viewfinders and monitors, strobes, flashes and continuous light sources, audio and video recorders.
At NAB 2011 K-Tek introduced Norbert Sport, which provides all the features of the Norbert, but is optimized for camera operators wanting a solid, versatile camera mount for handheld shooting. Norbert Sport provides DSLR and small-format high-definition video cameras with comfortable hand-holding and accessory mounting options. It has carbon fiber side handles with comfortable and grippy foam covers. The handles provide height adjustment, and use a secure collar/collet system. The Norbert Sport can quickly be fastened to a tripod when steadier shots are desired.
According to K-Tek president Brenda Parker, “It is a huge honor for a little company like K-Tek to be recognized with these 2 awards. After the response last NAB we were encouraged to expand the Norbert product line and I believe by introducing Norbert Sport this year we have fulfilled our goal to make a great camera product that is affordable, unique and practical. After 15 years of making the best boom poles and audio accessories we are enjoying branching out into camera products, all still made in California.
