Vinten Radamec Virtual and Augmented Reality Demonstration Collaborations at NAB 2012 NR

Valley Cottage, New York: April 13, 2012 – Vinten Radamec, part of Vitec Videocom, a Vitec Group company, announces that three Virtual and Augmented Reality solution providers are teaming with Vinten Radamec in its NAB booth C6245 to give collaborative demonstrations. ORAD, UNREEL and QVL (Quantum Vizualization Laboratories) will simultaneously give ongoing live demonstrations of their products, interfaced with Vinten Radamec’s world-leading encoded heads, on the same green screen background with the same anchor talent on-set.

The Vinten Vector 430i head will be incorporated into a virtual set demonstration by UNREEL of its UX Interface, using virtual sets created by Pro Cyc and Full Metal Jacket. The 430i head features manually operated pan and tilt head functionality from Vinten and high-resolution optical encoders to provide precise positional data for virtual and augmented reality applications in outside broadcast and studio environments.

UNREEL will also show collaborative demonstrations with Vinten’s Vision 250E head in the Pro Cyc booth (SL4313) and with a pair of Vinten Radamec’s new FHR-35VR enabled heads in the Ultimatte booth (SL1518).

UNREEL provides real-time 3D graphics solutions for virtual sets, broadcast on-air graphics and on-set visualization for broadcast television, corporate visualization, and feature-film production.

The Vinten Radamec Fusion FH-100VR Robotic and Manual Head will be interfaced with Quantum Vizualization Laboratories’ (QVL) Real-Time Graphics (RTG) solutions for another augmented reality demonstration. The FH-100VR incorporates the Vinten award-winning LF drag system to provide familiar drag performance for manual operators. Alternatively, the head can be controlled robotically. The FH-100VR head’s integral lens drive has automatic configuration for directly driving a wide range of full servo digital Canon or Fujinon broadcast lens.

QVL develops, markets and distributes an infrastructure platform that enables visual media companies to focus and extend their reach to consumers and enable them to manage a personalized visual media experience.

Vinten’s Vector 950i pan and tilt head together with Vinten Radamec’s VRi (Virtual Reality interface) will be showcased in a demonstration by ORAD, utilizing its advanced augmented reality solution. The Vector 950i is a heavy duty, high payload pan and tilt head specifically designed to meet the exacting demands of camera operators working in virtual production with full facility studio and OB cameras, offering a high level of control with many unique features. The VRi box combines lens zoom and focus feedback with positional data from Vector 430i, 750i and 950i pan and tilt heads.

ORAD is a leading provider of real time 3D broadcast graphics and video server solutions for the broadcasting industry designed to streamline the production workflow, enhance viewer experience and improve production efficiency.
