Filmmakers Share Expertise, Win Cameras and more at AbelCine’s 25-Year Anniversary
Burbank California, October 29, 2014—On Saturday, October 18, over 400 industry professionals attended AbelCine’s 25th anniversary celebration at the company’s Burbank location. The festivities included filmmaker panels, instructional seminars, and the opportunity to get hands-on with the latest gear, as well as a Phantom photo booth, raffle, and barbecue.
Throughout the day, special guests and industry professionals discussed their experiences working in the field with a range of production technologies. Panel topics included “Camera Movement – Steadicams, Gimbals, Drones & The Future” and “25 Years of Camera and Lens Advancement.”
There were also a dozen free raffle drawings throughout the day. Photographer/Videographer John Barmettler started his morning out right by winning a brand new ProShot 4-in-1 multifunctional camera support from K-Tek.
Camera Assistant David Tondeur took home a working piece of cinema nostalgia, the Miller LP ’54 Classic Tripod. A brand new rendition of the original Light Professional tripod and head, the hand-built system, complete in a handsome Australian Blackwood case, is ready to go to work.
The lucky winner of the Sony Alpha a7S compact, interchangeable lens digital camera was author Edward Lee Goldstein. And the coveted MoVI M5 camera stabilizer went to photographer/cinematographer/DIT and CTO of Lightview, Thomas Wall.
