Norbert Filmmaker Kit
K-Tek introduces the Norbert™ Filmmaker Kit. Expanding on the original Norbert accessory frame, the Filmmaker Kit is the next step in camera accessory management systems and is designed to complement SLR, professional and semi-professional video-capable DSLR, and compact HD video cameras–including the new 4/3” chip models.
K-Tek’s new Norbert Filmmaker Kit comes complete with a height-adjustable black anodized aluminum frame (with Manfrotto quick release plate and dovetail), iris rod clamp with 8” carbon fiber iris rods, and two locking handgrips. The aluminum frame is a simple yet ingenious assortment of accessory slots, standard shoe mounts, and ¼” x 20 and 3/8” x 16 threaded holes for attaching lights, audio accessories, monitors, video streaming devices, and more—that offer the user countless creative options when configuring the system for shooting stills or video.
Unlike brackets that mount on the camera shoe, Norbert attaches at the camera base for extra stability. The lightweight, yet rugged frame is strong enough to ensure valuable accessories remain securely on the rig. Threaded holes on the wide flat base enable the entire assembly to easily mount on a tripod. What’s more, the Norbert Filmmaker Kit is fully compatible with popular existing shoulder mount systems such as the Redrock Micro (as seen in the accompanying photo).
Two optional high-precision dovetails – a High Dovetail for use with the Canon 7D and similar size cameras, and a Low Dovetail for the Canon 5D – are available to prevent the camera from rotating when lens control motors are used. For cameras that have a battery/grip (or tall models such as the Canon 1D Mk IV or Nikon D3) an optional adjustable iris rod bracket can be used to enable the addition of mattebox and follow focus accessories.
