Professional Videographers Give Rave Reviews for Vinten’s Vision Blue
Vinten®, a Vitec Group brand and global leader in camera supports, is celebrating the success of its Vision blue pan and tilt head and tripod system at this year’s IBC 2011. The Vision blue system, which was specifically designed to bring cost effective and uncompromised professional performance to the lightest of camcorders, has enjoyed 12 months of soaring sales and positive reviews from customers around the world.
Users have praised the Vision blue’s high performance support, which was designed to match the broadcast quality performance of today’s small lightweight cameras, allowing operators to get the best creative freedom from the camera. The Vision blue not only comes at a more affordable price point, but delivers all of the quality and performance users have come to expect from a Vinten Vision head, including infinitely adjustable Perfect Balance and LF drag technology, both previously unavailable for such low payloads.
Peter Harman, Product Manager, Vinten, says: “The Vision blue was created to fill the gap in the market for a broadcast quality pan and tilt head and tripod system that can genuinely balance the smaller lightly accessorised camcorders, without compromising on creativity. We had tremendous confidence in the product when it launched, but the customer feedback we have received has exceeded all our expectations.”
Experienced professional videographer, David Jaquin, used the Vision blue for the first time earlier this year, when he was shooting a corporate video about a new mountain bike product range in a Welsh slate quarry.
Jaquin says: “We were shooting promotional shots so the quality was vitally important. I was looking for a product that could cope with being tested to its limits, and perform faultlessly. That’s where the Vision blue came into its own, it was balanced and agile and even though the conditions were pretty precarious at times, it performed exceptionally well.”
Robin Schmidt, an award winning freelance preditor, normally shoots handheld, super fast images and prefers not to use tripods – but when a recent job in Lebanon stated ‘non handheld’ he decided to test the Vision blue.
Schmidt explains: “I tried out Vinten’s Vision blue as it is designed for lightweight cameras and I needed a butter smooth head that would allow me to do controlled tilts up buildings as well as pans across cityscapes. The more complicated moves involved diagonal pan and tilts from left to right on a 200mm lens with very precise start and end points. The action of the Vision blue’s fluid head and drag controls allowed me to do this with ease.”
Another regular user of the Vision blue is Denmark-based Jan Mejlgaard Bliddal, freelance videographer. “I have been very satisfied, particularly with the level of control I have using the Vision blue system with my Canon XH-A1 camera. It allows me to use the full zoom range of the camera without being hit by motion sickness. I am now able to do tight focusing, something which was not possible before.”
Peter Harman, Vinten’s Product Manager, concludes: “The past year has been a true litmus test for the Vision blue, the system has really been put through its paces and even in the most extreme conditions its performance has never failed to impress the camera operators.”
