Bike racing enthusiast Brad Boyd recently used Schneider’s iPro lenses to capture the action at and during a 50-mile gravel road race. “No more bulky SLR camera,” he says happily. “Rather than choosing between an SLR or the iPhone for candid photos and action shots, I can choose to use the iPhone with the iPro lenses and get a creative and unique result. Ultimately, there will always be a gap between the shots an SLR can capture and the shots an iPhone can capture. These lenses narrow that gap.”

On the recent bike race Boyd found that using the iPro lenses allowed him to instantaneously capture shots that wouldn’t need editing or a computer to get them posted to Social Media and Race Vista’s featured race slideshow.

“I also participated in a bike race where I was able to take pre-race shots in the starting line-up, a few pictures during the 50-mile race while riding, and some finish line photos that wouldn’t have been as good with only the iPhone,” he says. “And, during this part of the event, taking an SLR wouldn’t have been practical.

Boyd says the compact size, quality and portability of the iPro lenses are exactly what he needs when he’s shooting extreme sports. “They utilize a case that doubles as a monopod/handle, and the lenses attach to the phone case with no fear that they will fall off or come loose,” he explains. “I like that the super-wide angle and 2x telephoto lenses are extremely useful for landscape and action photos, and they are of sufficient quality that they not only are terrific for Social Media and instant-upload photos, but are even capable of print-quality photography.”

Attorney and avid cyclist Brad Boyd’s hobby is photography. Some of his work in the cycling photography realm can be found at his website RaceVista.com, which showcases the visual media from bike races in a unique and interactive platform. The most recent images shot with the iPro lenses can be found at RaceVista’s Instagram account, tagged with #iprolens. Some are also in the Featured Race pages at RaceVista.com for the Filthy 50 race and the Metal Cross race.
