Toronto, Ontario – July 15, 2026 – 2D House, one of Ontario’s premier professional motion equipment providers announces it is the first rental house in North America to receive the new ZEISS Aatma lens set. This milestone marks a significant enhancement to the diverse gear options available at 2D House, reinforcing its position as a world class resource for filmmakers and commercial producers seeking cutting-edge cinema technology.

Zeiss Aatma full frame primes redefine the concept of cinematic optics by marrying the “soul” and emotional character of classic Zeiss glass with modern optical engineering to meet today’s demanding cinematography workflows. The set of nine T1.5 primes (18mm, 25mm, 35mm, 40mm, 50mm, 65mm, 85mm, 100mm, and 135mm) captures softly rendered skin tones, painterly focus transitions, and a rich soap-bubble bokeh while delivering consistency across focal lengths. Plus, Zeiss eXtended Data (XD) and CinCraft ecosystem integration optimizes the lenses for visual effects, camera tracking, and virtual production workflows.

“The Aatma lenses are the first set in a long time, from a major manufacturer, that I have felt so excited about”, remarks David Dvir, 2D House founder/president/CEO. “They’re definitely their own category of lens.” With a background in still and motion photography, Dvir was particularly struck by the test footage he had seen of exterior foliage. “I know the challenges when shooting things like that — it’s notoriously difficult to separate the foreground and background. But the Aatma’s unique bokeh effect really makes the different planes stand out in a way that I find very appealing.”

2D House took delivery in early June 2026 and the Aatmas went immediately out on a rental. Looking ahead, the rental house expects the lenses to become a popular choice across diverse types of production work, particularly in commercials and streaming narratives where both reliability and aesthetic distinction are essential. “People have told me they feel and look like Super Speeds,” comments Dvir. But there’s more to it. “They bring something fresh and versatile that elevates the creative possibilities for our clients,” he adds. “Zeiss really nailed it.”
